At the Ethnic Media Awards, we employ a rigorous judging process that guarantees excellence in recognition. We pride ourselves on a transparent and fair approach, measuring each applicant against a set of robust scoring criteria. Learn more about our judging process below:
Nominations & Applications
Entrants to the Ethnic Media Awards are by nomination, or recommendation from our expert judging panel.
Each nomination should be accompanied by a supporting statement, demonstrating the individual’s achievements and the impact their work has had within the media industry.

National Judging & Scoring Criteria
Once our application process closes, each entry is inspected and evaluated against a set of strict criteria. Our judges will pay special attention to candidates who have demonstrated:
- A commitment to delivering outstanding journalism in their field
- A passion and dedication for their work
- A noteworthy impact in the media industry
- High levels of competence throughout their role
Shortlist Announcement
Finalists will be announced during the first week of August. Venue and date to be confirmed.
Event & Feedback
Winners will be announced at the Ethnic Media Award’s prestigious ceremony in London. Our awards will be presented by our generous corporate sponsors and supporters.
